Phase I of the floor heating project started with adding 900’ of PEX tubing to our concrete floor and adding a solar hot water collection point along with a 150-watt solar panel to run the solar pumps. The hot water collector and PV panel are mounted on the backside of the building and track late morning to evening sun. This provides a small amount of energy to try and keep the floor from freezing. However, we will need to add more hot water collection in the future to make any difference with the floor.
