SUCCESSFUL CANDLELIGHTER PIE AUCTION
Wow…..what a special pie auction….from Kimberly Bruhn talking to us about what our club means to her (and the Candlelighters) while her son battled cancer for six years and then lost the battle (not a dry eye in the place), to the kids who helped out with the auction who are now cancer free, to the pie that was bought by the Wild Bunch for $3000 in the memory of Bill Reagan who was such a supporter of our club and is sorely missed by all of us after he lost his fight with cancer, to the story of Rob Hernandez who was given almost no chance of surviving cancer and is now cancer free for a year now, to our phone in bidders (Jean & Larry Gelbrich) who weren’t the highest bidder on a pie so instead donated $5000, to our anonymous donor who donated an extra $1000 on top of their pie purchase and to all the rest of us who purchased pies for between $40 and $300 or just donated money….job well done. For our 15th pie auction we raised $13,690. This is the most ever raised.
Thanks to everyone who brought in pies and desserts of all kinds, a handmade quilt and chimes. Thanks to everyone for going above and beyond in purchasing all these items. Thanks to those who donated their purchases back to be auctioned off again. I can’t say thank you enough!
